Top U.S ocean scientist calls for immediate direct action to curb greenhouse gases in latest Bluewater ‘Planet Water!’ podcast
Stockholm, Sweden, February 23, 2021 – Leading U.S. ocean scientist Sarah Cooley, Director of Climate Science at Washington-based Ocean Conservancy, calls for immediate direct action to curb greenhouse gases in the latest’ Planet Water!’ podcast from Bluewater, a world leader in innovative water and sustainable bottle technologies.
Dr. Cooley, who has a Ph.D. in Marine Science with an emphasis on ocean carbon cycling, said a lighter human footprint was needed to escape the twin threats of the single-use plastic tsunami and climate crisis seriously impacting the health of the planet.
“It’s my job to really understand the state of knowledge on ocean impact from human activities, from climate change and more, and sharing it with people who aren’t necessarily science experts,” Dr. Cooley told Planet Water!. She said the idea is to translate the science and help synthesize it in a comprehensible way to people who are not science experts so “we can ensure policies that truly care for the ocean are really based on evidence and the best available science.”
Broadcast monthly, the Bluewater PlanetWater! Podcast engages with top names from the world of water, sports, business, and the environment.
“The aim is to provide global audiences with an informative platform around critical issues of water, hydration, health, wellness, and the environment,” said Bluewater communications director Dave Noble (photo below), who also presents the PlanetWater! Series.
