THE OPEN TACKLING POLLUTION BY AXING PLASTIC BOTTLES

The Open will be one of the first global sporting events to remove single-use plastic water bottles, in a move supported by the UN. The Open Water initiative has been developed with Bluewater to deliver a new approach to supplying drinking water by using refilling stations and reusable stainless steel bottles. The project is supported by UN Environment’s Clean Seas campaign and aims to raise awareness of plastic pollution.
